Speaking to IGN recently, Matt Selman, who has worked on the animation since 1997, has mentioned how he would also "love" to see this particular Simpsons game make a return but admits it would be "complicated" to revive: It got a release on the Nintendo GameCube back in 2003 and since then there's been growing support for a remaster or remake. One title fans of the long-running cartoon would love to see make a return is The Simpsons Hit & Run - a Grand Theft Auto-like game set in the fictional town of Springfield. The Simpsons might not be quite as popular as it once was, but there's still plenty of demand for the famous American family's retro video games.
